Pakana woman Domica Hill is a contemporary Aboriginal artist infusing traditional elements with modern colour palettes and patterns. She has a passion for native flora and fauna inspired by the loss of her daughter Briar Primrose as well as bringing connection to her ancestors.

This piece represents our Spirit Being in the form of a Galah. Birds are very important to Aboriginal people and are often seen as totemic ancestors and spirit beings. The painting shows a Galah perched up on a branch of flowering gum. There is a path/track running through the middle of the piece with many meeting places and rest stops. This represents your journey with the spirit being looking out for you along the way.
